My husband can be such an idiot.

Do most people not know how to shut a car alarm off--on their own car?

Could you figure out how to do it quickly at 8 AM or would you let it happen twice?

See, that's a good question. Car alarms work different in different cars. Mine, for instance, is keyed to the door locks. If the key isn't in the ignition, and the doors are locked, it'll arm itself. And since I generally don't use the key to open the doors anymore... well, I've never had a problem. What was the situation?

He also couldn't shut the alarm clock off... I don't know what he did to the car, you'll have to wait for his explanation.

One quick yank'll shut off most alarm clocks.

You press that little button on the remote, right?

I apparently pressed the wrong "little button". See, on my old car, the alarm button shut off the alarm. On this new vehicle, I assumed incorrectly that it operated the same way. So I missed both my mother and wife telling me how to do it correctly.

Maybe John, like every other human on the planet, has adjusted his ears to completely tune out the precise frequencies of all car alarms.

The car thieves in my neighborhood always make their Detect/Disarm Traps checks.

Not that it matters, you coudl be standing next to a smashed window, sterring column ripped to shreds, screwdriver in the ignition with the alarms blaring for all to hear and all you have to do if someone does turn your way is give them the "Opps, I locked my keys in my car look".

No one cares about car alarms.

In the middle of the nowhere in the morning when there are no other noises, it is really REALLY loud.

You just got married! You have to wait at least a year before calling your spouse an idiot.

At least in a public forum. ;-)
