is this a sign...

That spring is near? I planted seeds in the seed formula on Tuesday, all flowers (6 kinds!) and there is a seedling coming up already! Even though I can't plant any of these for another 8 weeks or so, it makes me think its at least spring already, even if it's still in the 30s. It seems warmer. Maybe its just my optimism...

It /does/ seem warmer. The stupid cold chill is gone. Even though it's cold, it's not bone chill cold. I dunno. 30 degrees now is much easier then 30 degrees three weeks ago.

As stupid as that sounds.

My lobelia came up last night. I was actually going to be on time for work this morning; then I spent ten minutes poking at them and making baby noises: "Who's the stwongest wittle pwetty fwowers? Who's the cutest wittle gween babies?" and I was late.

If you've never seen lobelia, the seeds are approximately the size of hydrogen protons. It wasn't until I saw a solid coat of green fuzz this morning that I realized I'd "slightly" overplanted.

The pepper seeds rotted, but at least they did it stylishly: red fuzz, yellow fuzz, green fuzz, and brown fuzz. The tomatoes and lavendar are yet to be seen. I ran out of seed trays and I didn't even plant a square meal's worth of vegetables yet.

I planted some lobelia. I tried not to put toooo many in, but it was certainly hard to judge because of their size. Other seeds planted: the cosmos are the ones coming up already, petunias, gerberas, some violas, and stock. There are some that I'm going to plant directly in the ground. No vegetables, since I'm not sure where we'll be living when it comes time to plant.

What kind of cosmos do you have? I bought the Burpee fire mix and it says to sow them outside after frost, not inside.

I LOVE gerberas. But what is stock?

And what's this not being sure of where you're living at planting time? Is there a move coming for you?

My cosmos are also Burpee, the bright lights mix. It also says you can plant them indoors so they'll bloom early.

Stock is supposed to have a really great fragrance, and I liked the color.

Did you order a lot of your stuff from Burpee and get the free seeds? I got their greenhouse kit, too.

Well, as for moving, we are looking at houses here in Bradford, and John also has an interview with Edinboro on Monday, which is closer to Erie, and other points. If they would happen to offer him the job, we would probably move there, since there would be more opportunites for me as well. Excitement! Nothing's for sure though, so we're going to keep looking for a house here all the while.
