mouse in the house

eeek! There's a dead mouse on our kitchen floor. I'm going to let it set there until John gets home in an hour. I have to step over it very carefully. Time to get a cat.

John is off today because they're doing electrical work at the library, so he gets a three day weekend, and that started with going to the DMV this morning.

I'd offer to lend you Bella or Summer, but they'd just stare at it like "People clean up refuse, not cats. Where is my lunch?"

Yeah, mice suck.

I hate to be the conduit of bad news, but most cats aren't particularly effective at mouse control. Especially in older buildings where the mice have all sorts of places to take up residence in the walls. If you get a cat you'll probably find that the mice don't venture out of the walls as much, but that they really won't go away. Instead you'll just occassionally find mice the cat has caught and played with and then gotten bored of.

I'd suggest that before you get a cat you have John put out poison, traps, and maybe that pherenome stuff they claim keeps mice away and let it work for a few months. You can't really use the poison once you get a cat as the cat can end up getting poisoned as well (by chewing on the mice)...

Oh, I know about cats. But we were planning to get a cat anyways, next month or so.

On Saturday I got back the Christmas card I sent you guys. It says "no forward order on file, unable to forward". My guess is they assumed you left for Katrina. Morons.

You want me to try it again?
