The year of the...

In the land of Mary, I hererby declare this the year of the book and the quilt. I plan to read lots more this year, and I plan to quilt lots more. If the job situation continues as is, this year will be perfect for these endeavors. Please note that these are not New Year's resolutions. I have already finished my first book, The Shadow Roads, book 3 of The Swan's War by Sean Russell. Now, I did start this before New Year's, but I had only read about 50 pages.

Should I keep a running list of the books I read, and would anyone be interested in knowing what I think about them? I'm not sure that I would want to know what I think about them. Not all books need to be thought of. Next, I think, I'll start 1421: the Year China Discovered America by Gavin Menzies, that I have out of the library until the end of April. I should be able to finish it by then, right? I've never read a history book for fun, my only experience being reading books for college history classes. Or maybe I'll start in on Shadowmarch, the first book in Tad William's latest series...

Tad Williams has a new series? Is it finished, or is this the first book and then wait forever? I don't like starting things unfinished.

Yes, I care what you read.

My current recomendation is Wicked. But I haven't been able to even open it, I'm so busy.

It's the first book, unfortunately, and I got it for Christmas, so now I have to read it, like, immediately, even if I have to wait a year or two for the next one.
