Hey, people who have been to Chicago/lived there, etc.--anything you think John and I should specifically do while we're there, or places we should definitely go to eat? Please note, we will not have a car while we are there. Also, the Taste Of Chicago food festival thingy is going on while we're there. Neat. I know a lot of stuff to do in Chicago, but it's hard to decide which would be the most fun/enlightening/cheapest.

And we're staying at this Best Western.

And the dates of our trip: June 21-28.

I'm from Chicago and here's what I recommended to out-of-town wedding guests visitting the windy city last March:

There's lots of super tasty food in Chicago, so I'm sure the Taste of Chicago thing will be fantastic. Otherwise I'd recommend checking out Millenium Park with has quite a few neat items to see.

The view from the John Hancock building is definitely worth checking out (if you go at night, plan to wait forever for a seat, though I hear the daytime is much more manageable). It's also very worth getting good Chicago-style deep dish pizza while you're there. There are a bunch of good places to find it. I went to an awesome dueling piano bar (apparently one of the "it" places to have a bachelorette party) called Howl At the Moon (go at like 6:30 if you want to actually sit). You should also try to go see "The Bean." It's just a bigass sculpture, but it's huge and very shiny. It's in a park along Michigan Avenue. I was greatly disappointed in Navy Pier, so I don't recommend it. You can't throw a dead rat without hitting a museum of some sort, either, though I didn't have time to check any of them out, sadly. If you like blues clubs, Buddy Guy has a blues club up next to the Hilton on Michigan (which is where we were staying).

I see someone actually from Chicago responded, so I'm sure most of this is already covered...but there's my .02.

Have fun...I know I did...it's an awesomely beautiful city.

P.S. "The Bean" is in Millenium Park.

We have an invite to a private party at Howl at the Moon, since Pitt is a Endeavor customer. Perks!

Mike and I passed through Chicago at about 3 AM and the traffic was still worthy of several Xanax. That's all I know firsthand.

I know my dad was out there a lot for training for work, and he loves the space museum. I've seen pictures and it looks like something worth seeing. But it's huge, so you'll never get to all of it in the time you have.
