quilt in need of a home

This may be the only time I ever offer this...

This quilt needs a home. I am about to quilt it and it seriously needs a place to go. I don't know who would like a quilt that is purple and orange batik (which are surprisingly gorgeous together, but not something I have a place for), but if you have had a marriage/baby/job/lost a job/need some comfort from a beautiful quilt, let me know. If I get more than one offer (free beautiful quilt!), I will have a drawing to decide who to give it to. If no one wants this(!) I will have to donate it somewhere. (back story, I originally had a purpose for this quilt, but that purpose is no longer valid, i.e., I can't give it to the person/people I wanted to give it to... and I can't sell it because it is a pattern from a book) Please contact me privately if you are interested.

I'm sure you can find someone more worthy than me, but I wanted to say that it's gorgeous!

One of these days I need to take up quilting...

What Rachel said. If someone with -need- of quiltlove comes along, I gladly step aside, but man... That is a pretty quilt, and I'd like my name in the hat of quilt wanters!

I had no idea you couldn't sell stuff if you used a pattern. No kidding. So does that mean people on Etsy who make clothing have to design it from scratch?

That is gorgeous and if I didn't already have an awesome one from you I'd probably throw my hat in the circle, but I'd just feel greedy.

Well, some patterns are covered by copyright, ya know? The books will say on the copyright page that you cannot sell the quilt or whatnot. I have no idea about clothing designs, though!

Glad you still like your quilt! ;) Hey, if you get a chance, can you take a picture or two of it? I think I may have one photo of it and I want to remember what it looks like!

I know knit/crochet patterns are the same, so I'm betting clothing patterns are, also. The pesky "this pattern is for personal / non-commercial use only" clause.

Sure, I'll dig my camera out from its pile of crap and take some shots.
